From Sobriety to Breathwork

My indulgences, falling short of being labeled as 'addictions,' are sweet treats and unhealthy phone habits. I acknowledge my reliance on them and perpetually strive to create a balance to coexist with them in relative harmony.

It is an understatement that I don’t understand what it’s like to be challenged by addictions to substances like alcohol and drugs, or other harmful activities.

I certainly can't pretend to comprehend the journey of sobriety or being on the other side of addiction.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be, and the strong “WHY” required for individuals to make the choice to quit and start anew. How brave it is to reinvent yourself without the crutches.

It was a genuine pleasure to have a conversation with Olivia on this episode of the Second Spring podcast. She guided us through her personal journey - from childhood trauma to addictions to a single moment of clarity.

You'll find inspiration in hearing about her remarkable journey to sobriety and how breath work transformed her life, along with what true joy feels like!

A couple of weeks after the recording, Olivia’s mother (with whom she had a very challenging relationship) passed away. Needless to say, it’s a time of both immense grief and incredible relief. You will understand more deeply the significance of this loss once you’ve tuned in to this special episode.

Please check out Olivia’s upcoming breath work offerings if you are looking for natural and simple ways to overcome your own challenges.

Olivia Mendoza is a breath work facilitator, a women’s circle holder, an intuitive artist. She’s also a self-healer and a proud sober warrior.

I met Olivia last fall at a retreat we both attended in England. The first circle we had, Olivia was sitting right next to me and I remember her crying the whole time. Then there was a second day when she didn’t cry at all, but was quietly observing. Then I heard her story and I was obsessed with everything about Olivia!

Olivia’s story of a challenging upbringing, her journey to sobriety and self-compassion will inspire you more than you know.

Please check out her offerings, especially the upcoming “Breathwork Bubble” that will sure transform your life for the better.
