I remember the moment last fall when I knew I needed to revive the podcast from its long dormancy. It didn’t happen right away, of course—inertia can be so hard to overcome! I had all sorts of excuses to wait for the right time, which, as you know, will never just appear from thin air.
We get to make the right time happen.
When the decision was made (did you know that all decisions are made in an instant?), I put together a list of people I wanted to invite as podcast guests. Then I reached out to them and made appointments with those who said yes! Thereafter, I located a new podcast editor and that’s when the wheel really started turning. Together, we created a podcast editorial schedule and set dates for the episode releases.
It is fun to declare that today marks the end of the first two seasons of the Second Spring Podcast!
As much fun as it was to produce, it was not always easy. There were weeks when I didn’t want to do the work. There were Monday nights when I stayed up past my bedtime to create content for episode releases. But I always made it happen because 1) I wanted to follow through with the preplanned schedule and 2) I had accountability built in from the editor and maybe the listeners as well.
Have you done anything like this: made a decision, strategized a plan, created a support team, and built accountability to help you succeed? These are the ingredients and processes that ensure a positive outcome (I talked about how you can do this with your health and wellness goals in the last episode).
I am forever grateful to all the guests who enriched this podcast with their stories, inspiration, and wisdom. If you were one of them and are reading this, THANK YOU!
I truly could not have done any of it without my podcast editor! THANK YOU, NORSON!
And I thank my past self for having the motivation and courage to start something again. It would have been easy to stay in “I should do it someday” mode. But because I did not, perhaps some of the podcast episodes helped a few people feel better, make healthy changes, or try some new things to improve their lives. THANK YOU, 2023 KIT!
I have a question for you.
Would you like to see Season 3 come to fruition?
If so, can you do me a favor and say yes by hitting reply to this post? If so, would you like more interviews or more solo episodes, or a mixture of the two?
In this solo episode, Kit reflects on the last two seasons of Second Spring Podcast. Almost 20 guests joined the conversations around health and wellness for midlife women in their second spring chapter.
Kit is curious whether you are inspired to make any shifts in your life after having listened to their stories?
If so, what are some tools you can use to ensure that you will not be stuck in overwhelm, create and follow through on some new patterns and habits that will benefit you in the long run?
Tune in to hear Kit’s suggestions, using her own real life’s experiences!
