Truth: I dread a couple of ordinary questions:
Where are you from?
What do you for fun?
The first question just takes time and explanation for me to answer. I have a unique story for it. The second one? I often don’t have an answer, which is something I don’t feel great about.
At some wee hour this morning as I was trying to find something boring to watch, hoping that it would put me back to sleep (this jet lag is a doozie one!), I came across this TED talk. I clicked on it thinking that it may help lull me back to sleep, after helping me answer question number two.
Instead of being boring, I was captivated by the talk. I watched the whole thing with great interest.
It turns out that fun is quite a profound concept. Fun isn’t frivolous, but an experience that helps us feel connected and illuminated. When we are genuinely having fun, we are in the flow. When we are having fun, we are thriving!
I loved how the speaker wants us to reframe what fun means. With her help, I loved reliving some “fun” memories. I also loved dreaming about how I can have fun moving forward.
Most of all, I love knowing that having fun is fantastic for our overall health!
So I am here to share the talk in case you, like me, can use a nudge to have more fun in this chapter of your life.
Have a watch and let me know what you think!
What do YOU do for fun?
Signing off for now - I may be able to get a cat nap in after all.
xoxo
