Have you ever thought - hey, I should take up a new hobby, learn a new language, sign up for things I have never done before?
If you are a fellow GenXer, or a Baby Boomer, or from the generation before that, this thought has probably crossed your mind at some point. Maybe multiple times!
Maybe it started happening right around your middle years; maybe when you became an empty nester. It definitely happened when you find yourself with more time and less excitement in life. For a lot of us, we are inspired to “do new things” when we want a spark of novelty, a little motivation to challenge our aging brain cells. We want to feel excited and alive again.
Consciously or not, I’ve gotten myself doing some new things recently!
My 48 year old brain is being challenged with learning a new language for the first time in a while (Japanese!), and engaged in a whole new training (Yoga teacher’s training! More of this later) simultaneously.
And you know what, I am feeling alive and having fun!
At first I was questioning why all these activities are happening all of the sudden (I am also working on Season 2 of Second Spring Podcast, and getting ready to see patients and clients again for Second Spring Sessions)! Then the calendar reminded me that Spring Equinox is upon us.
In fact, today, March 19, is when Winter officially ends and Spring begins. I’ve felt Spring energy in the air for a few weeks now, and I apparently caught its wing.

It’s a great time to maximize the Spring energy to help propel you forward. The momentum of this energy may feel fast and furious. It can feel super scary! But I am telling you - it is worth it.
