Thank you
Hello friends and family,
I have exactly five minutes to write this before my house fills with loved ones tonight… and then even more in a few days… and even more on Thanksgiving.
Almost 22 years ago—on this very day—I had no idea my life would change forever in about 72 hours. I was VERY pregnant with twins, on bed rest, probably watching a Friends rerun while eating a pint of Ben & Jerry’s with cookies on the side.
Back then, I had no concept of how much gratitude a single heart could hold. Not just because Thanksgiving was approaching—the holiday of thanks—but because of everything life would give me in the years to come.
To cut to the chase, among so many things, I want to express my gratitude to you… the person reading these words.
Maybe I know you well (hi!).
Maybe we’ve never met at all.
But the fact that you’re here, reading this, gives me permission to thank you—for engaging with my words, for being part of my community, or for being a meaningful and supportive piece of my life.
I didn’t grow up celebrating Thanksgiving, but it has become my favorite American holiday—partly because it always circles around the births of my children, partly because it always includes sharing food with people I love, and definitely because it invites us to pause and reflect on one of the most powerful feelings we get to experience:
Gratitude.
So here I am, with almost a full house and for sure a full heart, saying thank you.
For being here.
For showing up in whatever way you do.
For witnessing my life, my work, my words, and this wild, beautiful journey we share.
May this week bring you comfort, good food, sweet memories, and the kind of love and gratitude that roots itself in you—in your heart, in your body, in your bones.
Happy Thanksgiving!
With love,
Kit
