Kit's Café ☕️💖
Women, Food, Midlife and more
I don’t have many close friends.
The ones I do have live in a very special place in my heart. When I spend time with them, it’s usually one-on-one.
Because…
I don’t do well in groups.
I’ve never really been that girly girl.
Sometimes I find it easier to hang with men—so I don’t have to pretend I know about clothes, hair, nails, and eyelashes. Handbags and the latest fashion trends. It’s a blind spot on my part — not something I’m proud of!
That whole straddling the in-between thing in me applies clearly here. This time, it shows up as the space between feminine and masculine. The that tender grey space between yin and yang.
For a long time, the idea of being with many women at once would make my nervous system freak out. Maybe it was a year of all-girls secondary school. Plus four years at an all-women’s college. Nothing wrong with any of that—it’s just… not me. I never sought that energy out because it dysregulated me instead of energizing me.
But something about this midlife season is asking me to do things differently.
It’s beyond “girly girl” now. We’re talking real life stuff.
Real women stuff.
So much so that I’ve been hearing my inner Empress whisper.
Nudging me to reach out to women from my past.
Inviting me to make new female friends.
Calling me toward female communities.
And asking me to create one.
Now she’s basically shouting:
KIT!
Find the women!
Be with the women!
You need them—
and they need you, too!
A while ago, I created a little space on YouTube called Kit’s Kitchen. It was a creative way to share food, recipes, and little bits of wisdom from my kitchen.
But we’ve moved out of the kitchen.
Because now we don’t just need to eat.
We need to talk.
We need to tell the truth.
We need to name our hungers.
We need space for menopause, marriage, empty nesting, hormones, grief, desire — and everything else that comes with being a woman in midlife.
So what’s a better place to do that than a café?
The kind where you don’t have to show up polished. You come as you are.
You can arrive late. Leave early. Sit quietly in the corner. Or pull up a chair and talk.
Some days we sip tea and listen.
Some days we share stories.
Some days we eat together.
Some days we cry.
Some days we laugh unexpectedly loud.
There’s no pressure to participate.
No hierarchy. No fixing.
Today I’m introducing you to Kit’s Café: a virtual community of women, food, and midlife.
This is a sacred space for midlife women who are ready to stop performing and start being real.
Think of it as us sharing a table — where we get to be holistic, authentic, and unapologetic.
Kit’s Café lives inside this Second Spring Chronicle. You can access it with a small membership fee.
Inside Kit’s Café, you’ll receive:
✨ Members-only posts on midlife, intuitive eating, nervous system healing, hormones, identity shifts, and coming home to your body from Eastern and Western perspectives.
✨ Real-life stories (mine + eventually yours) — the messy, tender, funny, brave truths we don’t always say out loud.
✨ Coaching-style reflections and prompts to help you stay healthy, digest your life, not just your food.
✨ Practical tools for Second Spring living — emotional regulation, body wisdom, relationship patterns, sovereignty, and self-trust.
✨ Audio + podcast-style shares you can listen to while walking, cooking, or resting.
✨ Live gatherings (virtual for now) where we breathe together, practice intuitive living, talk, and remember we’re not alone.
✨ A community of women navigating midlife, food, relationships, and purpose with curiosity instead of guilt, shame, confusion, frustration.
No perfection.
No girly-girl performance.
No hustle spirituality.
Just real women.
Real bodies.
Real conversations.
Real nourishment.
If your nervous system has been craving deeper connection…
If your inner Empress has been whispering too…
If you’re ready to sit at a table where you don’t have to pretend…
Pull up a chair. Order a drink. We’ve got each other.
You belong here.
Welcome to Kit’s Café. ☕️ Be sure to bring a friend to join us. 💛
