Collecting Joy in Wales 🌟
Joy in July continues over the pond!
Are You Still Collecting Joy in July with me?
Nineteen days into this 31-day project—an attempt to slow down time—I’ve noticed something beginning to surface.
🌟 Joy lives in small moments.
🌟 Joy shows up everywhere when we pay attention.
🌟 Joy is often unspoken. It is just felt.
🌟 Joy creates more joy.
🌟 Joy is best shared.
🌟 Joy can be medicinal when you let it heal you.
🌟 Joy lives in you.
I hopped over the pond this weekend, so joy is currently being discovered in the nooks and crannies of crumpets, the coast and hills of Wales, the bits and bobs of phone booths and afternoon teas.
You can follow my daily Joy in July here and here.
I’ll leave you with something the chair massage therapist at the Detroit airport asked me to do a few times—something that brought me right into a moment of joy.
“Take three slow breaths for me,” she directed as she pressed deeper into the knot in my shoulder.
“Focus on the pressure,” she suggested.
“Now, let it go.”
I couldn’t take a picture of that moment for you.
But I can assure you that by coming back to my body, by being fully present in that moment, there was joy to be felt and found.
And it was spectacular!
Sending love from here,
xoxo
