12 years! 🎉
Private, Community and Everything in Between
Twelve years ago today, I started my own acupuncture practice in Bexley. I gave it this super-duper creative name: Bexley Acupuncture.
It was not my first foray into business ownership. That happened back in California in 2002, when I was a newly licensed baby acupuncturist. At 27, I could barely pass for a college kid, let alone a healthcare professional. During my first week in practice, an elderly patient asked me how long I had been doing acupuncture.
“A few years,” I answered, generously counting my internship years seeing patients under supervision.
He didn’t flinch, but he didn’t know my palms were sweaty.
Between then and now, I have gained more knowledge and skills, more tools and tough lessons. I’ve added other modalities to my practice — coaching, hypnotherapy, intuitive eating, and more — so that you can be better served.
Between then and now, I have practiced in both community and private settings, offered workshops and retreats, and provided individual as well as group coaching.
I have written many, many posts and newsletters, often oversharing my own life’s trials and tribulations.
Today, I simply want to thank you for trusting in the medicine, and for your time, trust, and support. I would not have kept going if it weren’t for you.
A 12-year-old in real life is considered a “tween” — someone standing at the threshold of big changes: hormonal and social, physical and emotional.
In Chinese Medicine, a 12-year-old is in her first Spring.
My acupuncture and coaching practice turns 12 today, experiencing her first Spring all over again — this time with Second Spring wisdom.
How fun is that?
In real life, though?
I find myself in between places, not quite sure where to land. It’s a temporary chapter — one of curiosity and confusion, identity shifts and intentional choices.
Which makes life fascinatingly full.
If I had not been living wide awake before, I sure am now. If I had been taking things for granted, I sure don’t anymore.
You may have been with me for all 12 years — how privileged am I? Thank you!
You may have just met me recently — welcome to Second Spring!
We may not know each other at all — thank you for reading these words regardless.
Happy Tween to Yoon Acupuncture & Coaching!
Here’s to a full dozen years of health, healing, stories, and connection.
I am celebrating the magic of Chinese medicine, the magnificent human mind and body.
I celebrate the joy of being alive together on this planet.
With love,
xoxo
